Contracts
Before renting our boats, a contract will be signed with the boat driver. The boat driver holds full responsibility for the boat and the crew.
Boating License
If you were born after 1980, you are required to have a valid boating license to operate boats in Norway.
Insurance
All our boats are insured. There is no additional cost for insurance, but in case of damage, you are required to pay a deductible up to a maximum of 10,000 NOK.
Alcohol on the Boats
According to Norwegian law, it is prohibited to operate a boat with a blood alcohol content exceeding 0.08‰. The boat driver is responsible for the safety of the boat and crew. Driving under the influence may result in the loss of your car driving license. If we observe any intoxicated operation of our boats, we will confiscate the boat keys immediately.
Availability
Boats are available from 3:00 PM on the rental day, but may be available earlier unless maintenance is required. Boats must be returned by 11:00 AM on the final booking day.
If you arrive later than 7:00 PM, access to the boat will be provided the next day after 10:00 AM.
For bookings made 6 months in advance, prices may be subject to change, with the final price adjusted at the time of final payment. Failure to show up will result in full payment being charged.
Petrol
Boats are provided with a full tank of petrol and must be returned fully refueled. If not, a fee of 250 NOK plus the cost of refueling will be charged. Petrol can be purchased in Havøysund, and petrol cans are available for borrowing.
Damages
For damages below 10,000 NOK, the cost must be paid according to the current price list upon boat return. Serious negligence is not covered by insurance, and the responsible party will be fully liable. If the boat sustains significant damage that cannot be easily repaired, the customer must rent an additional boat during the repair period at their own expense. All individuals on board must have valid travel and accident insurance. No refunds will be issued if the damage was caused by the customer.
Backup Boats
In case of mechanical failure, our “Dolmøy” or “Gemi” boats will serve as backup boats. We strive to repair any damage as quickly as possible. Refunds will not be provided if the customer refuses the backup boat. If no backup boats are available, we will attempt to rent a boat from another fishing camp. If there is a price difference, we will cover it.
Responsibility (Force Majeure)
Domum Ad Mare AS (hosts) are not responsible for unforeseen events such as extreme weather, natural disasters, flight delays, road closures, illnesses, accidents, or other unexpected events.
Strong Wind Conditions
The lessor may prohibit boat use if weather conditions are deemed dangerous. The lessee must return to the port immediately if weather conditions worsen during the trip, and the lessor calls them back. No refunds will be given in such cases. If strong winds from the west are expected, we may relocate the boats to Havøysund for safety.
Environmental Protection and Legal Compliance
Guests are required to respect nature and adhere to all local and national laws, including environmental regulations. Protecting the marine environment, avoiding littering, and preserving wildlife are mandatory. All guests must follow fishing regulations, boating safety rules, and any other legal requirements.
